Film & Television

Q: What type of movies and tv shows have you been in?

A: I like to steer towards comedy and action.  I've been fortunate to work with really talented comedians in film and television shows like How I Met Your Mother, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Satin.  I love doing all the stunts and action in Destination X Hawaii & California.

Q: What would be your ideal role?

A: Something that combines action, redemption and a touch of humor.  People always tell me I should be a Bond Girl.  I always wanted to be more like Jane Bond.  I love the Kill Bill and Bourne Trilogy as well. 

Q: What are some of your favorite movies?

A: True Romance, Edward Scissorhands, Donnie Darko, Snatch, Amelie, The Secretary, Scarface, Bourne Trilogy, Kill Bill, Gladiator, Pulp Fiction, Harold & Maude, Me Myself & Irene...the list could go on and on

Fashion & Modeling

Q:  How did you get started modeling?

A: After moving to Los Angeles for political activism, I stumbled upon some very talented photographers and makeup artists that requested me for a few jobs.  After building a portfolio with various artist I ended up signing with CESD Talent Agency.


Q:  Who are a couple of your favorite clients?

A: Toms Shoes is awesome because their cause brings so much joy to children around the world.  I love that every pair of shoes you purchase donates a pair to a child in need.  I also adore Leila Hafzi for her beautiful hand painted eco-friendly couture gowns.  The Rolling Stones are probably my favorite clients, though.  Dancing in the rain to the Rolling Stones is kind of a dream come true.    

Q:  How does your fashion expertise effect your personal style?

A: feel my personal style is always evolving, but I do love a mix of edgy elegance.  Something classy and sophisticated with a pop of metal, glam or an accessory that packs a punch.  I like to make eclectic fashion statements from feminine and bohemian to powerful and modern.  
 

Writing

Q: How many film and tv projects have you written? 

A: So far, I've written, 24 episodes of television for "Destination X" and "The Industry", 7 webisodes for "Yogaphiles" and 1 short film called "Hit Girls".  I also have quite a few feature films, shorts, and tv episodes that I've written that have yet to be released.  

Q: What other scripts are you developing right now?

A: I'm working on a quirky comedy film called "Abnormal Andrea" about an idiosyncratic girl struggling with a personality disorder.  I have a sci-fi film in development that has a lot of action and suspense.  I also co-wrote a historic film with a talented writer that explores black art history.

Directing

Q:  What made you choose to take on the role of Director?

A:  It started with many people I've worked with, including directors mentioning that  would be well suited for directing.  I'd always been interested in becoming a director, but found the idea very overwhelming.  I finally decided to take on directing and challenge myself with a few projects and the learning process has been priceless.  
Q:  What are some of your goals as a director?

A:  I love trying out new styles, genres, camera angles and exploring film as a medium.  I enjoy representing many ethnic backgrounds and bringing together actors from different cultures.  I plan on working on a few new comedy, drama and action projects in 2012 that will allow me to play with those elements.

Q:  Do you feel being a female Director is an advantage or disadvantage?

A:  I think being a female director can have it's advantages in disadvantages.  On the plus side, I feel my intuition, empathy, aesthetic sensibility and nuturing attitude is very helpful.  On the down side some people have a tough time taking direction from a young woman.  I think there are many perks to be grateful for as a woman so I find it to be an advantage.
 

Producing

Q: How many film and tv projects have you produced?

A: I started doing some uncredited production on "Destination X" and then was hired as Associate Producer for 13 epsiodes of "The Industry."  In 2010 I moved into film production as Executive Producer on the short film "Hit Girls." I recently produced 7 epsiodes of my new sitcom webseries "Yogaphiles."  I've had a great time producing, It's challenging, rewarding, and an exciting way to learn about all sides of the industry.

Q: What is your favorite type of project to produce?

A: I love comedy, action, and projects that allow some artistic creativity.  It's great to bring together a diverse group of talent to create a wonderful product.  I like to get a good crew together of positive people who all strive towards the same goal and don't let anything stop them.

Q:  What do you look for in projects you would like to produce?

A:  I look for projects that make me laugh, have a profound message, or challenge me.  I like to explore different genres and develop my abilities in many areas.

Personal Life

Q:  What are some of your favorite hobbies.

A:  Some of my hobbies are going to the beach, biking, hanging out with other foodies, video games, playing with technology, shopping, and listening to live music.

Q:  Where are some new places you would like to visit.

A:  I have been fascinated with Egypt since I was a little girl and once they are a bit more friendly to women I would love to visit.  I also need to get around to Greece, Ireland, Lebanon and Spain.  I love Italy and like to get back there as often as possible.  My soul is from Seoul so South Korea has a special place in my heart.  

Fitness

Q:  How do you stay in shape?

A:  Yoga, martial arts, surfing, hiking, biking, getting out to the beach.  I'd say I do yoga most frequently and fill in the others periodically.  Eating healthy is a big part of keeping my body in good shape.  I try not to forget the outside is important, but the inside is my priority.
  
Q:  What is your favorite way to workout?

A:  Yoga definitely gets the best stretch, martial arts gets out the most stress, exercising outdoors keeps me from getting bored, but surfing is the biggest rush.

Food

Q: What's in your refrigerator?

Cheese...lots of cheese.  Think Wallace and Grommet cheesy.  I love veggies so lots of leafy greens, mache, red leaf lettuce, snow snap peas, baby bok choy, broccolini, asparagus, carrots, hummus, tabouleh, avocados, cilantro, and chili peppers.    

Q: What is your take on Meatless Mondays?
I love Meatless Monday because you don't have to be a vegetarian to make delicious meatless meals.  I eat a lot of Mexican and Asian foods and there are tons of dishes that don't call for meat at all.  I don't feel like I'm missing out because I love burritos loaded with veggies and lots of stir fry.

Q: Are there any foods you enjoy related to your ethnic background?

On my dads side I got hooked on Korean BBQ, Kimchi, seaweed soup and all the pan chan I can eat.  On my mom's side falafel, hummus, tahini, baklava, and all sorts of ethnic cuisine.

Beauty

Q: What's in your makeup bag?

I love the vegan makeup line from Tarte, their palettes, eyelines, and lip glosses are awesome and look beautiful.  Christian Dior seems to blend well with my skin and tones so I get a lot of their lip glosses, air spray.  Chanel is my classic go-to for pretty much any lipstick.  Urban Decay has some fun eco-friendly colors too. 
Q:  What is the one beauty item you can't live without?

Lipstick, you can be completely fresh faced and pop on some red lips and be good to go.  
 

Quotes

Q:  What is your motto?

My motto is a MYL mantra I created to remind me I'm happiness is closer than a mile away. Meditation Yoga and Laughter!  It's my secret recipe to a good life.

Q  What is your favorite quote?

My favorite quote is by Louis Armstrong, it always picks me up. "When you're smiling keep on smiling the whole world smiles with you."

Q:  What do you feel is your greatest gift?

I feel my greatest gift is creativity although if I could share one gift with the world it would be to inspire others to reach their dreams through love, forgiveness and self-confidence.
